The country of Warlukurlongu is where the Blue Tongue Lizard man sent the flames after his two sons, who had killed and eaten his 'joey', a pet kangaroo the old man had secretly kept. After he discovered his sons had killed the pet, the Blue Tongue man set the bush alight with his tongue, and set the flames upon his sons. They fled south for days on end, with the flames in pursuit, then turned for home, but before they could get there, the flames consumed them.
