Evelyn has painted a representation of the Yuelamu honey-ant site on Mount Allan Station. The roundels are rock holes at the site.
Yurampi, the honey-ant ancestor died here after a long journey of creation. From there the ants spread across the land to provide the sweet morsels, stored in the abdomen of the drones of the nest.
These 'drones' are fed the nectar of the mulga flowers, and regurgitate this food in times of shortage. These storage ants are sought out by the women with their digging sticks, digging deep into the red soil and probing the tiny tunnels with stalks of grass to determine whether there are ants in the small cells.
The ants are carried home on a coolamon, (food bowl) and the nectar eaten by holding the upper bodies of the ants, and biting into their abdomens. The women are shown as 'U' shapes, the track they leave when sitting. Also shown are lines of women dancing, to ensure the abundance of the honey ants.
